If your computer is moving really slow and it takes forever to retrieve information of your hard drive, then you might be in need for a tune up.  By doing a computer tune up, your computer will run almost as good as new.  It is very important to work out all those computer bugs! Below are some pictures showing actual bugs that have been found in a clients desktop computer. There is also a very dusty internal fan, along with various spider webs and a single roach that had its residence in the power supply unit of the computer.

How to find windows system tools. (XP, Vista, and Windows 7)

Windows OS provide a number of useful tools that you can easily access at anytime by going to the start menu.  The windows system tools can be use in everyday instants to monitor and protect your computer from system failure.  Once you are at the start menu search bar at the bottom left of your screen, select all programs as shown below.

1) Click on the start menu at the bottom left of your screen.

  

 2) Then select all programs as highlighted.

 


   3) Click on the Accessories Folder.

















4) Then select the System Tools Folder.

5) Once you click on the the system tools folder, all the windows system tools will be available, disk clean up, disk defragment, and resource monitor...Just to name a few.

Using Command prompt to shutdown your computer.

Windows CMD Prompt

You can easily use command prompt to do a number of very useful commands, which sometimes, is the only tool you have at your disposal.  To shutdown your computer using command prompt;

1) Go to the start menu search for "cmd" in your search, or run bar.

2) Right click on CMD to run the app as administrator.

3) Type the following command in the black box; shutdown -s

4) Then hit enter, once the confirmation pops up, then hit OK to confirm ( You can also type shutdown -a, to abort the shutdown)

Other commands that can be used in this form are; 

To restart your computer type the following; shutdown -r

To cancel the restart;                                  shutdown -a

Finally a Work around! Youtube Annotation Subscribe Link Fix! (Subscribe Link Glitch)

YouTube annotation subscribe link does not work when setting it up.  The subscribe button keeps disappearing.

When using annotation to link your subscription on YOUTUBE, it does not work.  I have found the solution to this problem.  Follow the steps in my tutorial, and your annotation subscription problems will be 100% FIXED.

Steps To Follow:

1) USE THE GENERIC SUBSCRIPTION LINK - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=CHANNEL NAME

2) PASTE THIS LINK INTO THE SECTION PROVIDED

3) Erase "CHANNEL NAME", and  insert your channel name.  (Make sure that you have no spaces in the link when you are pasting it)

4) Save and publish the changes that you have made.

How to get edit your registry on your computer.

The first thing you will need to do is go to your start menu and type "Regedit" in the search section.  Once you have done that, you will then need to click on the program listed as "registry"

 
You can now select what you would like to edit in the registry.











For example I will select the program in this list,(LogMeIn).

I can now select to change the value of this programe by clicking on default value as shown in the next screenshot.

One of the best software you can use for FREE is CCleaner, it's both for MAC's and PC's!

CCleaner is a free downloadable software you can use to clean up the cluster on your computer, it is also very simple to use and there is a free version as well as a FREE version.  I highly recommend this software if you notice your computer is lagging in performance.

Here is how it works,

Open CCleaner by going to your start menu, you will then select the option to clean your system temporary files by clicking the run feature highlighted in the screen shot.  There is also a analyze feature, which you can select to get a more detail look at the clutter on your computer system.

You can also select to scan  your computer's registry   for errors, and also correct them as well.

How to make your computer boot faster!

How to make your computer run faster especially at start up.  We do this by using the command msconfig at the windows start and search menu.  You will have a variety of options once you press enter, four options to be specific; but for now the one that we are going to use is the start up option.  I have a screen shot showing this below.

Type msconfig, then click on the program at the top.

Select the start up option at the top of the configuration tab.



You can now deselect the programs that slow your computer down at start up. I have some deselected here in this screenshot.  You will then need to restart you computer to save the settings.

How to reset your ip address using command prompt.

 They are many ways to do this, one of the easiest way to do it is by using the command prompt feature which is a command of all windows version.  There is a lot of commands that can be executed using this tool, the one we will use is "ipconfig/release" first we will need to pull up command prompt by going to your windows start menu as seen in the sceenshot below.

Click on command prompt.

You will then need to type "ipconfig/release"
Once this is done you will lose connection to the internet.

The next thing you will need to do is type "ipconfig/renew" in order to reconnect to the internet.
ipconfig/renew as shown in the below screenshot.

Your internet connection should come up whin a few seconds.


Now you should be able to surf the internet again when the renewal of your ip address is complete as shown above.

How to check your windows update (windows 7 or windows vista)

Some windows updates are very critical and it is important to not only download them, but also install them unto your hard drive.  You can check your update in many ways, however the easiest way I find to do it is by clicking on the start menu and right click on "Computer".  Then you will need to select the properties option from the drop down menu as shown in the screenshot below.

You can now select to check for the latest windows update.

How to back up your computer.

Backing up your computer is a very important task, this helps by duplicating all your files and computer settings and storing this information in a different location.  The best way to back up your computer is using  a external hard drive, or a offline storage device that can be access via USB.  Below I have provided some information on how to back your computer up the easiest way possible.

The easiest way to back up your computer is is by typing the word  "Back up" in the search tab section, which can be found by the windows start menu as highlighted.

                              

                                                                                                        

  Select "Back up and Restore"

You will need to set up a new back up, if you did'nt have one set up before. Also, select the hard drive that you want the back up to be stored.

(Tech Tip - Never back up your information on
the same hard drive, always use a different or external storage device)

             

Once you have selected the drive to store your back up then you can begin your back up.

How to delete cookies on Safari.

To delete your cookies on Safari you will need to click on the circle looking wrench on the top right of the web page... see below.

You will then need to select the preference tab from the drop down menu.

Select the privacy tab, then click on details to see your current cookies stored.

You will then be able to select individual cookies, or you can remove the entire list of all the cookies stored in your safari browser.

How to clear your cookies and cache in Google Chrome

In order to clear your cookies and cache in Google Chrome, you will need to go to the top left of your screen and select the customize and control button on the top right corner of the web page as depicted in the screenshot below.

You will then need to select the Settings tab from the drop-down menu.

Click on clear browser data, as highlighted below.                      

 

Then select the how far back you want to delete, once you have made your selection click clear browsing data.

 Once you have completed these steps, you will then need to close and reopen your browser so that the change can take effect.

How to do a disk cleanup on Windows OS.

Go to your start menu select "computer then right click on the hard drive you want to clean.  Then select the last option at the bottom of the drop down "properties"

Step 1 - Select disk clean up.

You will need to select disk clean up as highlighted in this picture.










Step 2 - Allow your PC to gather disk info.

Step 3 -Select the files you want to delete

Select all the files you want to delete of your computer.  This will make your system run , much more efficiently once this process is complete.

How to do a screen shot using windows vista or windows 7 is quite easy  All you have to do is go to your windows start menu and select snipping tool then use your mouse to highlight where you want to screenshot.

This is my review of the Dolphin mini browser for android. I downloaded this app from the Google app store for Android and I must say, it is the best browser app for android that I have used so far. The best thing is that it only takes up 0.99 MB of internal storage on any Android device.
