What is the Windows Registry?






The Windows registry is a group of files that contains settings for your Windows computer, such as what programs to open .exe files as well as other file formats.  The registry dictates when certain application should be executed, it also holds personalized settings, for example; desktop background, Internet Start page, and specific software settings.



How to access your computer's registry?

(You can find the Windows Registry by going to the start menu and typing regedit in the search box provided.)
